Release Information for IS-Oil Downstream Release 1.0A - TD

Description

Introduction

The IS-Oil transportation and distribution funtionality in 1.0A supports the creation and maintenance of master data for the following:

  • Vehicle master data
  • Transport unit master data
  • Vehicle meter master data
  • Driver master data

Vehicles and related master data (TD.07)

Vehicle master data (TD.07.01)

Vehicle master records may now be created within the system to represent the physical entities that transport product from one location to another e.g., a road tanker, freight train or ship. The master data records may be used to hold vehicle attributes and link the vehicle to plant maintenance and purchasing through the equipment and vendor master records.

The vehicle is itself closely linked to other areas of bulk transportation master data, being made up of a collection of transport units. The licenses required in order to drive the vehicle are also stored within the master data record.

Vehicle and product compatibility (TD.07.02)

Compatibility checking master data may now be set up in the system. Compatibility indicators are used to represent the characteristics of the object, then these are grouped and assigned to products, compartments, vehicles and customers.

Compatibility checking enables you to assign objects to each other, products to compartments, and vehicles to customers and to ensure that all the requirements are fulfilled. For instance, a vehicle sent to a particular customer requires the necessary physical attributes to deliver the product. It could be the case that a long hose is required if the tank inlet valve is some distance from the truck parking area.

Transport unit master data (TD.07.03)

Transport unit master data exists to model the physical attributes of the individual compartments within a vehicle. They form an integral part of the master data group providing a mechanism to link vehicle meters to vehicles on a compartment basis. In a similar way to the vehicle master data transaction, the transport unit transaction stores the physical attributes of the compartments, in addition to links to plant maintenance and purchasing through the equipment master data records, vendor records, and a transportation planning point.

Transport unit meters master data (TD.07.04.1)

Vehicle meters may be assigned to the transport unit after they themselves have been set up as master data entities. The meter master data stores the physical attributes of the meter, and provides a link to plant maintenance through the equipment master data records. Functionality exists to allow the meters to be recalibrated, flushed and have their end reading recorded.

Driver master data (TD.07.06)

Driver details may be recorded on the system. These details may include name, licenses held by the driver, and shifts available for working. An external personnel number may be entered, although this is not linked to the SAP HR (Human Resources) module. If the driver worked for an external carrier, the name of the carrier (stored as a vendor) may also be recorded.

Material and customer master data enhancements for compatibilities (TD.07.07)

The material and customer master records have been enhanced to allow the compatibility groups (refer to point TD.07.02) to be maintained.
