J_7L_REA_AUTO_CONFIG: Enhanced Price and Cost Calculation (New)

Use

As of SAP enhancement package 6 for SAP ERP 6.0 (EA-APPL 606), business function REA, Automatic Configuration (J_7L_REA_AUTO_CONFIG), you can use the following additional functions when calculating prices and costs:

  • You have the option of using a Business Add-In to adapt the algorithms used by the system to calculate prices and costs to meet your requirements.
  • You can also run a price calculation for master data objects even if you have not saved this master data.
  • When running a price calculation for master data objects, you can display a log of the calculation steps and any errors in the calculation.
  • You can speed up the processing of master data in cost calculations in the declaration system and price calculations in the information systems by specifying in Customizing that the system should buffer master data.
  • You can accelerate the price calculation for master data by specifying in Customizing that configuration data should be stored in the application server buffer.

Effects on Existing Data

To view the logs for price calculation, the new pushbutton Log is available in the applications for processing master data for articles and packaging on the Price Calculation tab in the Price List Analysis overview. In the detailed view of the price list analysis for item-dependent fees or weight-dependent fees, you can display or hide a detailed log using the additional pushbutton Show or Hide.

In the information systems for the price analysis of articles or packaging, the additional Status column now appears in the results table. If an error occurs, you can use the icon in this column to open the relevant log.

In Customizing for the Recycling Administration component, the following new or changed setting options are available:

Activation of the functions for using enhanced price calculation and cost calculation and the control of data buffering
Adaptation of the calculation of prices and costs
