Contact Partner Relationship: Validity Intervals and Addresses

Description

With the business partner relationship 'contact partner' it is now possible to maintain address data of the contact person (such as telephone number, telefax, location in a building/room in a company) with reference to a company address.

If you create a relationship 'Contact person for an organization', you can still enter telephone and telefax data without reference to a company address.

Using the function 'Assign company address' you can define other data on the contact person in addition to the address of the organization, such as phone/fax extension, building, floor or room number, under which the contact person can be reached at this company address.

Using the function 'Address overview' you can define contact person data for several addresses, if the organization has more than one address.

Maintenance of phone and fax data without reference to an address is only possible if no company address has been assigned to the contact person relationship.

With this new address management system, you can only create one validity interval per contact person relationship between two business partners for a freely selectable period.

Activities

If you have in the past maintained several validity intervals for a contact person relationship between two business partners, you will have to change your data so that only one interval remains. If you do not do so, the changes to address data with reference to a company address will become effective in all validity intervals, even if the changes are only made in one interval.
