Student Accounting for Full Academic Years (Enhanced)

Use

As of release 471, you can calculate fees and financial aid for full academic years. While fee calculation for full academic years was already possible in previous releases with certain restrictions, financial aid calculation for full academic years is completely new.

For technical reasons, the system bases fee calculation on an academic session. You must therefore explicity define a special session which the system can use (in the background) when it performs calculations for full academic years.

The system also uses this academic session in financial aid calculation when it determines the disbursement period. You must explicitly permit the assignment of grants for full academic years in Customizing.

When the system calculates financial aid and assigns grants to students, it checks whether any of the grants assigned within a period key (fee calculation period) overlap. If this is the case, the system outputs an error message.
