Time Units for Program Duration (Enhanced)

Use

Up to release 4.71, the duration of a program could only be defined in academic years or sessions.

As of release 4.72, you can define other units of time. When you specify the program duration in the Program Data (1730) infotype, you can choose from the time units defined. The time unit field in infotype 1730 was changed from one to two characters (data element PIQTIMEUNIT). The time unit description was extended to 15 characters (data element PIQTIMEUNITT).

Effects on System Administration

If you call function module HRIQ_RFC_ACADSTRUC_GET_DETAIL (Get Detailed Information for a Set of Objects) or function module HRIQ_BUILD_RFC_PROGDATA (Fill Corresponding RFC Structure of Infotype 1730) from a non-SAP system via an RFC connection, you should check if structure PIQRFC_PROGDATA needs to be changed because of the new time unit field lengths.

You define other time units in the Campus Management Implementation Guide under Campus Management Master Data -> Academic Structure -> Programs of Study -> Define Time Units for Program Duration.
