ISHERCM_INTERNSHIP: Internship Registration (New)

Use

As of SAP enhancement package 6 for SAP ERP 6.0, Industry Extension Public Services (IS-PS-CA 606), business function SLCM, Internships (ISHER_INTERNSHIPS), you can maintain internship registrations as part of the Student Lifecycle Management functions.

For Internship Registrations the system provides a new subtype of the infotype Employment(1718) for the Studentobject (ST). New fields have been added to infotype 1718 that are only to be used for internship registrations.

You can maintain internship registrations using one of two options:

  • Open the stand-alone Web Dynpro Application Internship Registration Maintenance UI(Web Dynpro Application PIQ_ISH_REGIST with the configuration PIQAC_ISH_REGIST_CONFIG_OVP).
You can use this process to search for existing internship registrations and edit them or create new internship registrations. This application can be used by university employees.
  • You choose the function in the SAP menu under Student Lifecycle Management -> Student Administration -> Academic Work.
You can assign an internship registration to an existing Module Booking or Miscellaneous Academic Work.

The system provides five parameters for internship categories and five parameters for attributes for both options, which you can define individually for your own implementation. You can specify the following contexts for an internship registration:

  • Module Booking
  • Program of Study(including Stageif applicable)
  • Internship Offering

You define the categories for internships in Customizing for Student Lifecycle Management under Processes in Student Lifecycle Management -> Internships.

You can define your own consistency rules and error messages in Customizing for Student Lifecycle Managementunder Processes in Student Lifecycle Management -> Internships -> Business Add-Ins (BadIs)-> BAdI: Checks for Internship Registrations.
