ISHMED_MAIN: Medication – Special Request for Drugs (New)

Use

As of SAP enhancement package 5 for SAP ERP 6.0, industry extension Healthcare (IS-H 605), business function Clinical System (ISHMED_MAIN) you can use a special request to order drugs which are flagged as not usable for the selected purpose in the drug master.

You can use a special request to order these drugs, as they must be ordered specifically from the pharmacy.

To do this you call the drug search by choosing the Create Medication Order function and search for the drug that you want to order. If the search result list does not contain the drug, select the Special Request checkbox on the General tab page.

You then repeat the search. If the drug is active in the drug master, the system now displays this drug in the result list. Select the drug and transfer it into the medication order. This causes the system to flag the medication order as a special request.

To get an overview of medication orders created as special requests you can set a filter on the corresponding field in the layout set in views of the Medication Orders view type in the clinical work station.
