ISHMED_SCD: Ward Documentation Work Station - Charting (New)

Use

As of SAP enhancement package 5 for SAP ERP 6.0, Industry Extension Healthcare (IS-H 605), business function Clinical System Situation Based Clinical Documentation (ISHMED_SCD), you can use new chart functions in the Ward documentation work station.

The chart provides additional graphs for displaying

  • Nursing Services
  • Inpatient Progress Documents and Nursing Progress Documents
  • Physician Orders

You can make the relevant settings for these features in customizing.

Another new feature is the display of the vital signs entered using the Clinical Measurements module.

You can also now print vital sign graphs.

Vital sign pairs, like blood pressure specifications, can be indicated optically:

  • The area between the two lines is displayed in color or
  • vertical connecting lines are drawn between the chronologically linked values.

You define which method you want to use in customizing.

All documents, progress notes, and order data to be displayed appear in a new, separate window of the documentation work station. This detail window keeps up to ten items of information open.

If the selected zoom setting causes the system to represent several documents using a single shared icon, you no longer have to change the zoom settings to open an individual document. When you click the icon, the system displays a selection list with all objects that are represented by the icon.

For the medication chart, you can choose a medication grouping, for example, according to administration route, in customizing for the chart. If this grouping is configured, the system will generate a separate medication graph for each group. For each administration route, you see a separate diagram with the text of the administration route as the heading.

Renewed orders are flagged by a corresponding icon with an identification number.

If an order is interrupted for a limited period, the chart will display this section shaded.

Anamnesis medicine are display in a different bar color to the medication ordered in the hospital.

In the medication and nursing graphs the system can display events individually or collected as a group and provide then for further processing for this module. The left mouse button is used to collect several events. In order to be able to toggle between the collect function and the zoom function of the button, the Collect Events On/Off has been added.

New functions enable you to switch the chart layout, change the time interval for the data you want to load, and compile your own hit list, while working in the documentation work station.

You can make and save settings for the display behavior, such as the representation of measured values and alarm icons, on a user-specific basis.

You can use the new pushbutton Information on Curr. Chart to receive information on the patient and the chart layout currently in use.

Effects on Existing Data

Effects on Data Transfer

Effects on System Administration

Installation of the current Sun Java Runtime EnvironmentTM (JRE) on the client PC is a prerequisite for the chart. We recommend Version 6 Update 12, in particular if you also use other i.s.h.med Java applications on the same server. Smooth execution without side effects has only been confirmed for this version. A variety of interaction tests have been executed for this.

For optimum work - also in connection with other JAVA-based components - we recommend you use SAPGUI 7.20 or SAPGUI 7.10 Patch 16 or higher.

Before activating the switch ISHMED_SCD, you need to upgrade the chart to an EhP5-compatible version (version number 06.05.xx or higher) on all your work stations.

The chart is not installed via the SAP GUI installation.

For information about downloading new chart versions, see SAP Note 1339235.

Effects on Customizing

Customizing for the chart has been enhanced. If you need additional patient data for printout, you can add it using a BAdI interface. A sample installation is provided.
