ISHMED_SCD: Enhancements in Surgery Work Station (New)
Use
As of SAP -enhancement package 5 for SAP ERP 6.0, Industry Extension Healthcare (IS-H 605), business function Clinical System Situation Based Clinical Documentation (ISHMED_SCD) you can use the following enhancements, in addition to the functions provided by enhancement package 4 in the Surgery work station:
Chart
As an alternative to the patient viewer you can display the chart, which graphically displays selected patient record data on common time axis. Display is only available as an alternative to the patient viewer. You can find a description of the chart in the release notes referring to the chart.
Clinical Overview
This is a display component in which information is compiled in info blocks. You can adapt the configuration on a situation-specific basis in customizing. The clinical overview is available in a version for the ward work area.
In the work station settings you can user-specifically determine that the patient overview should be displayed instead of the clinical overview.
Physician's Orders
Physician's orders can be entered for the inpatient follow-up care for patients with inpatient cases. This function is available in the function selection of the global toolbar. It can only be used properly if you also use the ward documentation work station.
Global Toolbar Enhancements
The function selection now also includes the functions
- Open Current Clinical Order
- Create Inpatient Physician's Orders
The functions which are ued to set the Surgeon's Release, Premedication Complete, Patient Consent and Surgery Started indicators, have been enhanced by a status display.
Clinical Task Management
To enhance the previous surgery situations (statis situation type) there are now also situation templates of the dynamic type available in the surgery work area. With this situation type you can define task lists which group tasks, for example according to the responsibility for a task. The task template, task status and responsibility are available as selection criteria.
In the toolbar of the task component of the surgery situation there is a function with which you can select further surgeries of the patient.
Event Management in Clinical Task Management
If you customize he base item, Complete events of some applications can be used to have the system set the status of the task to Completed, when the Complete event is triggered in the application. The following base item types have been enhanced by this function:
- Document
- Assign Situation
- Progress entry

You can create task lists as situation templates of the dynamic type in template management of the surgery work area.
You can enhance the function selection of the situation template global toolbar. If you wish to use the enhanced functions, with which the Surgeon's Release, Premiedication Complete, Patient Consent and Surgery Started indicators are set, frst remove the existing functions from EHP4.
You can create your own configurations if the overview and the chart.
If you have a license for the ward documentation work station and use it on the wards, you can create templates of the Inpatient Situation Physician's Orders type in ward template management.
If you wish to use event management in task management, execute the customizing activities according to the documentation under Configure Event Management for Tasks. You can define event handling in the base items of the above mentioned base item types.
