ISHMED_SCD: Integration of Service-Based Appointment Search (New)

Use

As of SAP enhancement package 5 for SAP ERP 6.0, Industry Extension Healthcare (IS-H 605), business function Clinical System Situation Based Clinical Documentation (ISHMED_SCD), the service-based appointment search is integrated in i.s.h.med.

You can use the service-based appointment search to find appointments for services without explicitly specifying scheduling types. You can control whether a search is service-based or based on scheduling types by means of an organizational unit-related parameter (OU parameter).

In the following scenarios, a service-based appointment search is supported.

  • For the creation of a clinical order
If you want to plan the ordered services while creating a new clinical order, you can call the service-based appointment search using the Find Appointment pushbutton (if Customizing settings permit).
  • For services already ordered
If you ordered services from a treatment facility using a clinical order in a previous processing step, you can call the service-based appointment search for the Find Appointment function in appointment planning (for example, in the Outpatient Clinic/Service Facility view type in the clinical work station).

All additional fields of the service-based appointment search (for example, Access Type and Priority Class) can be used as search criteria. Additionally, the system manages the priority class, which you can maintain for a time slot in Customizing for Planning, in the appointment template of the clinical order. This enables you to set a default value for the priority class in the appointment search dialog.

The system defaults the duration in the search dialog according to the following logic for each individual service for which you are looking for an appointment:

  1. The system defaults the total duration (= sum of preparation time and clean-up time and the treatment duration) from the Med. Indicators tab page in the service master data.
  2. If these durations are not maintained, the system defaults the duration with the value which is specified in the Service-Based Appointment Search group box on the Other tab page.
  3. If this duration has not been maintained either, the system defaults the value for the duration from the appointment template of the clinical order.

You should note that provisional services are not supported in i.s.h.med functions like in the service-based appointment search using visit scheduling (transaction NR16). In i.s.h.med, all ordered services must be linked with a clinical order. If you still want to use visit scheduling (transaction code NR16) for the service-based appointment search, you need to implement the Business Add-In BAdI: Connect Medical System to Service-Based Appointment Search. Note that a sample implementation is available for this BAdI.
