Radiobuttons and Checkboxes with Functions

Scope of Functions

Since SAP Basis Release 4.5, the graphical elements Radiobutton and Checkbox can trigger an event, i.e., the next PBO. Therefore the parameter "Command" (Aktion) gets set if

  • a selection field is displayed as a group of radiobutton, or if
  • a Yes-No field is displayed as a Checkbox.

As was previously the case, a database field is located behind selection fields and Yes-No fields; you enter the appropriate value that will then additionally trigger an event (OK-Code).

You can define the OK-Code and the related execution routine (user exit).

Command without OK-Code

In this case, the Standard OK-Code TEST is triggered. This causes re-execution of the PBO of the current screen. This can be meaningful if you would like to assign values to a Display field in the current screen based on the data, or if the field serves as a switch (toggle) field for modificationof the current screen.

Command with OK-Code

In this case, the execution routine defined is called as soon as the user selects the checkbox or a radiobutton.

For example, this is meaningful, if you would like to navigate using the value of the switch field or you would like to supply other fields with values.
