Lab Data Transfer

Use

For the Lab Data Transfer with Enhancment Component SAPLN2L2 there is another user exit. This enables the processing of customized messages in the HL7-format when transferring lab data. After standard processing of the of the HL7-segments, the lab data can be modified before it is transferred via batch-input as findings.

The SAP enhancement is effective in the function module ISHCM_GET_LAB_DATA_HL7. In the loop, a call occurs via the segment of the messages after every standard processing of a segement of the user exit.Also if a segment does not receive standard processing, the call from the user exit will take place.

All separators needed for the processing of a segment are transferred in the interface. The parameter I_SEGMENT contains the message segment. The general data of lab findings (C_LABDOC_DATA), the details of a lab value (C_LABOR_RESULT) and the comments for a lab value (table CT_LABOR_TEXT) all can be modified.

As an example for the processing of the message segment, the standard routines in the function group N206 (e.g., HL7_OBSERVATION_REQUEST) is used.

Application Example for the Modification of Data

You can convert the data before the findings are created by batch-input. If a request is made via IS-H*MED electronically, and the number range interval is small, then the lab systems will link the task start date to the request number, in order to insure the uniqueness of the task after the interval is reset. With the transfer, the number must again be separated in order to determine the corresponding request.

Application Example for the Transfer of Additional Fields

Additional fields of existing segments or new segments are transferred from the lab. For this reason, the following situation is possible:

The structure N2LABORRESULT contained in tables N2LABOR001 and N2LABCOMM, gains a customized append structure. The document category N2_LABOR is then copied, the new fields are added, and the new document category is generated.

The user exit supplies the new fields.
