Clinical Work Station - Work Environment Selection and Roles

Use

If the system administrator defines role-specific work environments (these are work environments assigned to roles rather than to users), the system displays these work environments for all users with the corresponding role.

You assign a work environment to a role via the following menu paths from the SAP Easy Access screen:

  • In IS-H, choose Hospital -> Basic Data Administration -> Clinical Work Station -> Assign Users to Clinical Work Station
  • In IS-H*MED, choose Clinical System -> Clinical Basic Data -> Clinic Work Station -> Assign Users to Clinical Work Station.

To assign a work environment to a role, proceed as follows:

  1. Choose New entries.
  2. Select Clinical work station for the work environment type.
  3. Select the work environment you want to assign to a role.
  4. In the Role column, select the role you want to assign to the work environment.
  5. In the User column, enter * (valid for all users)
  6. Under Title, enter the title of the work environment.
  7. Specify the Priority of the work environment. This determines where the work environment is located on the user's work station.
  8. Save the assignment, and exit the transaction.
  9. After you have logged off, and called the clinical work station again, this work environment is available to all users with the maintained role.

Selection logic for work environments

  • If no work environments are maintained, the standard work environment (SAP_WFIELD) is displayed for all users.
  • If work environments are assigned to users, only the work environments directly assigned to the users are displayed.
  • If work environments are defined for roles, these are displayed in addition to the work environments directly assigned to the user.
  • Work environments for which an asterisk (*) is specified in the User column are displayed for all users for whom a work environment is not directly assigned.
