Canceling the Last Service Requested for a Surgery

Use

If you cancel the last service requested for a surgery, in IS-H*MED this will generally cancel both the request and the whole surgery together.

In the past, this caused problems in the workflow, because in many cases, the user did not intend to cancel the surgery but did intend to replace the request procedure with another one.

You can replace a requested service with another one in IS-H*MED with the function "Replace".

Starting with Release 4.63, the function for canceling the last service has changed as described in the following:

If you want to cancel the last service requested for a surgery, you will receive a prompt for you to specify whether to cancel the surgery or replace the service with another service.

If you, the user, select the option "Replace Service", the system will branch into the function "Replace Service". This will cancel the service originally requested (status "Replaced" in IS-H*MED), and will create the "new" service in the same status as the original service.

Note the following exceptional case:

If you select multiple services and then press the "Cancel" function, the system will only prompt you to specify whether you really want to cancel the surgery or not. You can no longer call the "Replace" function for multiple services.

Starting with Release 4.63a, you can replace services that are already released. This will also cancel the original service as well as the services generated for the cost breakdown.
