Priority of the Cycles Dependent on the Organizational Unit

Use

Release 4.62 includes the option to prioritize cycles for the display in the input help function (F4). You can read about this in the corresponding Release Notes.

Release 4.63 also includes the enhancement for defining priorities based on the corresponding organizational unit. This enables you to override priorities defined in the maintenance transaction for the cycles for a specific organizational unit.

For assigning the priority for a cycle to an organizational unit, you can use the menu option in the SAP menu under Clinical System → Basic Clinical Data → Service Management → Clinical Service Master → Cycles → Prioritize by OU. In the initial screen, you can select the institution and the organizational unit. You can then add an individual prioritization in the "Cycles" entry screen.

In the input help function (F4) for cycles, the sorting will then take place in the nursing planning function for each organizational unit according to the following criteria:

  1. Priority of each organizational unit
  2. General priority from the cycle definition
  3. within the same priority level sort by description

If you do not specify an individual priority for a cycle for an organizational unit, the system will use the general priority from the cycle definition function as a sorting criterion. You must first make sure that all cycles appear for which you have defined a priority for each organizational unit. Right after this, the cycles will appear for which you have not overridden the prioritization from the master data.

Example: There are both the cycles "Once Daily" (with the priority 2) and "Twice Daily" (with the priority 0). Without assigning anything further for the organizational unit, the "Twice Daily" cycle appears in front of the "Once Daily" cycle. If you then define for the OU1 the priority 0 only for the "Once Daily" cycle, then the display of the existing cycles in the nursing plan will show the "Once Daily" cycle in front of "Twice Daily".
