Regenerate Dialog Application and Print Control Program

Use

Once you have upgraded to 4.71 you must regenerate the dialog application and the print control program for all your own parameterized document categories. You do not need to regenerate the print form.

Mass Generation of Document Applications via Toolbox

The toolbox will only generate document categories where the Generation Allowed indicator is set.

  • You call transaction N2TL
  • You should restrict to the current client (default setting; in principle you can only generate documents on your current client). The system may take a long time to load the document category definitions.
  • You select List Document Categories
    The system will display the document categories in an overview tree according to client and institution.
  • To generate all the document categories of one institution, you select the institution and then Generate Dialog Application (F8).
    If you only selected one individual document category, then the system will only generate this one.

Mass Generation of Print Control Programs via Report RN2GENPRINTCONTROLS

  • You start the above-mentioned report and select the institution.
  • You select Execute (F8)
    The systemn will start the generation of the print control programs of all document categories (versions); this will not change the print forms.

Note

Both mass generators will only generate the application, if it has already been generated (so this is actually a regeneration). The system will therefore only generate a new dialog application, if a dialog application (function group) is entered for the document category. The same applies to the print control program. This prevents the system from generating document categories which are still in the design stage.

The system will display a log after mass generation.

If a document category is not generated due to an error, you must process it using the transaction N2T7 for processing document categories. This is the only place where checks are performed before generation, which can provide the reason why generation was canceled.
