Coding Analysis Work Station (Enhanced)

Use

As of Release 4.72, the Coding Analyses view type in the Clinical Work Station contains the following new features:

Selection screen for the Coding Analyses view type

  • Case Selection group box: Indicators
  • If you set the Dept Status Open indicator, the system only displays the cases that have an open department status.

  • If you set the Dept Status Open in Dept indicator, the system only displays cases that have an open department status in the specified department.

For further information about the department status, see the Department Status Basic Medical Documentation release note.
  • Diagnoses tab page
  • The Diagn. Cod. Catalog and DRG Principal Diagnosis fields enable you to select the cases for which the chosen diagnosis code is flagged as the DRG principal diagnosis.

  • The Interpret Missing Diagnosis Ind. in Relation to Departments indicator enables you to specify that the indicators for missing admission-, discharge-, and department main diagnosis are to be interpreted in relation to the department specified in the selection.

Note: The selection options on the Diagnoses tab page are linked by "or".
  • Surgeries/Procedures
  • The SP Catalog and DRG Principal Procedure fields enable you to select the cases for which the chosen procedure code is flagged as the DRG principal procedure.

  • The w/o SP Code for Mech. Vent. when Mech. Vent. Duration Entered indicator specifies that the system is to select the cases for which you have entered the mechanical ventilation duration, but have not entered an SP code for mechanical ventilation.

  • The w/o Mech. Vent. Duration when SP Code Entered for Mech. Vent. indicator specifies that the system is to select the cases for which you have not entered the mechanical ventilation duration, but have documented an SP code for mechanical ventilation.

The selection options on the Surgeries/Procedures tab page are linked by "or".
  • DRGs tab page
  • The MDC Catalog and MDC Code fields enable you to select cases for which the chosen MCD code is set.

The selection options on the DRGs tab page are linked by "or".
  • Other tab page
  • The w/o Estimated Length of Stay indicator enables you to select the cases for which the estimated length of stay has not been recorded.

  • The w/o Admission Weight indicator enables you to select cases whose age does not exceed one year and for which you have not entered the admission weight.

  • The w/o Birth Weight indicator enables you to select newborn cases for which you have not entered the weight at birth.

The selection options on the Other tab page are linked by "or".
  • Pathways tab page
The system only displays this tab page if you have implemented the IS-H*MED Pathways component.
  • Patient Pathway Status enables you to select cases for which the specified patient pathway status applies.

  • Occupational Group enables you to select cases in which specific occupational groups are involved in the processing of the open treatment steps in a case's treatment pathway.

The selection options on the Pathways tab page are linked by "or".

  • Business Add-Ins (BAdIs)
For the definition of the SP Codes for Mechanical Ventilation, you can carry out a customer enhancement to override the standard definition using Business Add-Ins (BAdIs) (see below).

Field Catalog

The column selection for the Coding Analyses view type has been enhanced as follows:

  • Patient Data area
The system only displays these new fields if you have implemented the IS-H*MED Pathways component.
  • Patient Pathway Status, Pat.Path Status Text and Patient Pathway Status Icon show the current patient pathway status for a case.

  • Occupational Groups: Displays the occupational groups involved in performing the open steps in a case's treatment pathway.

  • Case Data area
  • Dept Status for Case specifies whether an open department status exists for the case.

  • Dept Status for OU specifies whether an open department status exists for the OU selected beforehand.

  • Open Departments contains a list of the open departments.

  • Missing Estimated Length of Stay Icon

  • Admitting Physician

  • Discharging Physician

  • The Attachments for Case icon specifies whether attachments from the generic object services exist for the case.

  • Laboratory Document Exists icon with navigation to the cumulative findings (applies only for IS-H*MED)

  • Movement Information area
  • Movement reason and text (Movement Reason 1, Movement Reason 2 and Movement Reason Text)

  • Icon for readmission due to possible complications (RA icon)

  • Diagnosis Information area
  • Missing Admission Diagn. in OU icon and field

  • Missing Discharge Diagn. in OU icon and field

  • DRG Information area
Renaming
  • Admission Weight previously Weight

  • Unit (Admission Weight) previously Unit

Enhancements
  • Missing Admission Weight Icon

  • Birth Weight

  • Unit (Birth Weight

  • Missing Birth Weight Icon

  • Missing Mech. Vent. Duration Icon - is only output if you have entered a mechanical ventilation procedure.

For the country version Germany, the output of the following new case-related DRG key figures is supported:
  • Maximum length of stay - date (MLOS Date)

  • Minimum length of stay - date (mLOS Date)

  • Average length of stay - date (ALOS Date)

  • Length of stay in hours (Length of Stay in Hours)

  • DRG minimum length of stay in hours (Min. LOS in Hours)

  • Cost weight (Bas. Cost Weight)

  • Currency key (Currency)

  • Additional key for charge type for flat rate per case, procedures surcharge Additional Key)

  • Additional key text. charge type for flat rate per case, procedures surcharge (Addit.Key Text. Charge Type for FR/PS)

  • Effective cost weight (Eff. Cost Weight)

  • DRG basic price (DRG Basic Price)

  • DRG charge (DRG Charge)

  • DRG surcharge/discount indicator (DRG Surcharge/Discount Ind.)

  • Text for DRG surcharge/discount indicator (Text for DRG Surcharge/Discount Ind.)

  • DRG cost weight of surcharge/discount (Srchrg./Dscnt Reltn)

  • Number of days for DRG service surcharge or discount (Days Srchrg./Dscnt)

  • Surcharge or discount relation (days x surcharge/discount rel.) (Srchrg./Dscnt Reltn (days x surcharge/discount))

  • Amount of DRG surcharge or discount per day (Srchrg./Dscnt/Day)

  • Total amount of the DRG surcharge or discount (Amount Srchrg./Dscnt)

  • BPFLV case (BPFLV case)

  • Readmission case (Readmission Case)

  • Preceding case (Preceding Case)

  • Case number of the readmission case (Case No. of Readmission Case)

  • Procedure Information area
  • DRG principal procedure (DRG Surg. Proc. Cat, DRG SP Code, Service Short Text)

  • Missing Mech. Vent. Procedure Icon: The system displays this icon if you have entered the mechanical ventilation duration.

Scope of Functionality

  • Function enhancements IS-H/IS-H*MED
  • The Case Monitor function calls the case monitor for a case.

  • The Rules function executes the consistency checks for the medical documentation. For further information, see the Check Medical Documentation release note.

  • The Set Status function enables you to set the medical case status you wish to set for the cases selected in your worklist.
    Note that the system can only set the selected status for a case if this status features in the case's status profile.

  • The hotspot for the Comment on DRG field takes you into the DRG Work Station.

  • The hotspot for the Attachments for Case field takes you into the generic object services attachment list for the case.
    For further information about the attachment list, see the Icon for Existence of Attachments in Case Header release note.

  • The Export as Local File and Export to Excel functions enable you to export the displayed view data.
    Note that it may not be possible to export an excessively large layout of your view to Excel.

  • Function enhancements IS-H*MED
  • The Create Document function calls the document creation function for a case.

  • The Laboratory function calls the laboratory cumulative findings for a case.

  • The Outstanding Items for Patient function calls the list of outstanding items for a patient.

  • You can only execute the Edit Patient Pathway function if you have implemented the IS-H*MED Pathways component.

  • You can only execute the Assign Treatment Pathway function if you have implemented the IS-H*MED Pathways component.

Note that the system does not evaluate multiple selections for all functions.
