Results Recording Call from PP-PI

Scope of Functions

The function allows the user to:

  • Record in-process inspection results directly from PI sheets.
  • Select primary and secondary equipment for control charts via input help (F4) within PI sheets and in the QM environment

To record and review in-process inspection results, standard SAP R/3 PP-PI module functionality requires the user to switch through a sequence of screens, going to the QM module and back to PP-PI. The IS-HT functionality allows the user to call results recording directly from the PI sheets (PP-PI QM jump).

Equipment may be selected for control charts or results recording in two ways:

  • Selecting the primary (tester #) and secondary (handler #) equipment within the PP-PI sheet by using input help (F4) on the PI-Sheet: Maintain screen.
  • Identifying the primary and secondary equipment via a dialog box on the Record Results for Inspection Point: Initial Screen. F4 may also be used.

Effects on Existing Data

To enable the use of this functionality, you must:

  • Create the following process message characteristics in Central Functions -→Classification -→Master Data-→ Characteristics (transaction CT04)
  • MES_TESTER

  • MES_HANDLER

  • MES_DUT_BD

  • MES_CAL_DUE_DATE2

  • MES_CAL_DUE_DATE

  • Once the process message categories and process instruction categories have been created in the IMG, assign:
  • the resource MES-TST1 and control keys MES1 and MES5 to the operations on the Change Master Recipe: Recipe screen, Operationstab (transaction C202)

  • process instruction categories to the process instructions on the Change Master Recipe: Operationscreen, Process Instructions tab (transaction C202)

After the process message characteristics have been created in the Central Functions area, the process message categories and process instruction categories must be created in the IMG.

Then you must return to Logistics-→Production - Process -→Master Data-→Master Recipesto assign the process instruction categories to the master recipe.
