User Roles

Scope of Functions

SAP Easy Access is the new role-based point of entry to the R/3 system. For information about role-based easy access to the R/3 system, refer to the R/3 Standard Release Note Changes to Initial Menu in R/3: SAP Easy Access. You can also find information here about different menu 'trees' (SAP menu and user menu).

In this IS-H Release, SAP delivers activity groups for most of the user roles encountered in the hospital environment, such as patient management, patient accounting, nursing staff, medical staff etc. Transactions and reports used by the majority of users are assigned to these activity groups.

Detailed documentation about the hospital-specific user roles supplied by SAP can be found in SAPNet on the SAP Healthcare (alias: healthcare) pages, under Product Information, in the form of two different documents:

• The SAP Healthcare Role Concept describes,

• The perspectives from which the user roles were developed

• How you can maintain the basic data

• How you can integrate IS-H with standard functionalities such as Financial Accounting, Controlling or Materials Management

• How to use IS-H*MED activities

• How to jointly maintain authorizations and roles

• The SAP Healthcare User Roles document contains an overview of the user roles and activity groups relevant for this release, and the transactions and reports assigned to them.
  

SAP plans to also deliver user roles with the mySAP.com Workplace. For information about the mySAP.com Workplace, choose Library -> mySAP.com Workplace in the online documentation.
