Data Transfer from IS-H to EC-EIS

Scope of Functions

Report RNUEIS lets you transmit certain data from the IS-H System into the Executive Information System (EC-EIS). If you want to use this function, it is essential to read the program documentation.

Data is transferred per business period into a previously defined aspect in EC-EIS.

Besides the institution, you can enter the following characteristics as selection criteria for data transfer: case numbers, services, and outpatient, or inpatient cases.

The aspect can only contain fields from the field catalog that were created beforehand from the IS-H structure RNEISTRANS. This structure has been changed for this IS-H Release.

In addition, as of this release, you can display all fields for these characteristics contained in the check tables as attributes in EC-EIS reports. For this, specify ISH_EIS_ATTRIBUTE_GET as the read function module in the attribute maintenance of the relevant characteristic. Copy the attribute required in your reports from the template table contained in the standard system. You can use attributes, for example, to show the unit of measure of services or different indicators for admission, discharge or visit types.

If you want to create your own function modules to determine characteristics and/or key figures, use the new ISH_GET_CHARACTS_TEMPLATE function module. This can be used as a template for both characteristics and key figures. Pay particular attention to the function module documentation and the comments in the source code. You can test your function modules using the RNUEIS_FUNCTION_MODULE_TEST program. Read the program documentation carefully.

The following new characteristics are available as of this IS-H Release:

  • Case (FALNR)
Case number of the IS-H case
  • Case categorization (FALCL)
Specified settings taken from IS-H Implementation Guide -> Information Systems -> Data Transfer from IS-H to EC-EIS -> Case Categorization for EC-EIS are used for case categorization.
The following case categorizations have been added for the country version Germany:
  • FG: Max length of stay overrun for flat rate per case

  • BG: Max length of stay overrun for flat rate per case with procedures surcharge

  • FI: Max length of stay (intensive care) overrun for flat rate per case

  • BI: Max length of stay (intensive care) overrun for flat rate per case with procedures surcharge

  • FB: Max length of stay (main department and intensive care) overrun for flat rate per case

  • BB: Max length of stay (main department and intensive care) overrun for flat rate per case with procedures surcharge

  • Short-stay patient indicator (SHRTC) and long-stay patient indicator (LONGC)
These characteristics are case-related key figures for short-stay patients for the discharging OU or for long-stay patients for the admitting OU.
They are transmitted as a separate sender record with the key figure ONE (KYONE), see below.
The key figures are determined on the basis of the number of days specified in the IS-H Customizing activity in Information Systems -> Data Transfer from IS-H to EC-EIS -> Parameters for Data Transfer IS-H -> EIS.
  • Referring physician (RPHYS)
The personnel number of the referring physician is determined from the business partners for the case. For further information about the referring physician, see the characteristic attributes (see above).

New characteristics for international IS-H versions:

  • DRG Code (int.) (DRGCD) and DRG catalog (int.) (DRGCT)
The characteristics for Diagnosis Related Groups(DRGs) are only available for the country version Singapore in this release. The valid DRG code is transferred, i.e. the code with the highest sequence number that has not been canceled.

Changed definitions of characteristics:

  • Department main diagnosis (FHDIA) with department main diagnosis catalog (FDKAT) and hospital main diagnosis (KHDIA) with hospital main diagnosis catalog (KDKAT)
In previous releases, the assumption was made for data transfer into EC-EIS that there is only one catalog for department main diagnoses and only one for hospital main diagnoses. However, with the introduction of ICD-10 (for the country version Germany), there can be different statistics-relevant diagnosis catalogs for both diagnosis types. The diagnosis catalog (DKAT) has therefore been replaced by the following two characteristics as of this release: hospital main diagnosis catalog (KDKAT) and department main diagnosis catalog (FDKAT). The statistics-relevant catalog valid on the discharge or transfer date of the corresponding stay is specified in these characteristics.
The diagnoses, which were entered from the respective catalog determined, are read from the diagnosis tables accordingly.

The following movement-related key figures are new to this release:

  • Max length of stay in main department overrun (GVDOV)
This key figure is only available for the country version Germany in this release.
An overrun of the maximum length of stay in the main department of the case is entered in days and is valid even if more than one flat rate per case is entered. The day on which the maximum length of stay is exceeded is also counted as an overrun day.
  • Maximum length of stay in main department (GVDMO)
This key figure is only available for the country version Germany in this release.
The maximum length of stay in the main department is a cumulation of all flat rates assigned to the case and is output in days.

The following service-related key figures are new to this release:

  • Maximum length of stay of flat rate per case in the central department (GVDMO)
This key figure is only available for the country version Germany in this release.
The max length of stay in the main department is specified per flat rate per case for the service.
  • Standard length of stay of flat rate per case in the main department (NVDMO)
This key figure is only available for the country version Germany in this release.
The standard length of stay in the main department is specified per flat rate per case for the service.

The following organization-related key figures are new to this release:

  • Planned beds (PLBED), set-up beds (SUBED) and operational days of the organizational unit (DAYOE)
These key figures reproduce the statistical bed figures you maintained in the application menu by choosing Hospital -> Basic Data Administration -> Hospital Structure -> Organizational Structure -> Statistical Beds (menu path in SAP Easy Access menu). The key figures are evaluated according to their validity within the period to be transferred. To determine the bed days, you can create a calculated key figure in EC-EIS that is the product of the operating days of the organizational unit multiplied by the planned beds.
Each of these key figures relate to an organizational unit, and, as such are neither movement-related, nor service-related. Note that to accommodate this, a new name for the determining function modules has been introduced in Customizing. You can access this by choosing SAP Healthcare - Industry-Specific Components for Hospitals -> Information Systems -> Data Transfer from IS-H to EC-EIS -> Display Characteristic and Key Figure Determination for IS-H.

The following additional key figure is new to this release:

  • Key figure ONE (KYONE)
This key figure is set for a sender record that contains neither movement-related nor service-related key figures. The key figure is required to count the records in EC-EIS.
Examples of this are the short-stay and long-stay key figures that are purely case-related.

Effects on System Administration

Effects on Customizing

It is essential to read the Section Configure Settings in EC-EIS of the IS-H Implementation Guide.

Further Information

Background Execution

Program RNUEIS should only be executed by choosing Transaction Data -> Transfers -> Data Transfer R/3, and in the background. To transfer data into another R/3 System, an RFC destination must be created in system administration with the calling user's logon data.

Dependent Functions

The program makes use of the generated deletion report RKCSExxx of the aspect (where xxx is the 3-digit aspect number). For this reason, the aspect environment must be created before RNUEIS is executed.

Since this deletion report now makes the selective deletion of data records possible, this option has been added to the selection criteria of program RNUEIS along with Test mode (no transfer) and Delete old data records immed.
