mySAP Supply Chain Management for Healthcare

Use

As part of the mySAP Supply Chain Management for Healthcare project, extensive enhancements concerning the integration of Materials Management with SAP Patient Management (IS-H-MM functionality) and the support for the hospital pharmacy are planned for this and future releases of SAP Patient Management. Equal focus will be given to supporting the roles in the hospital pharmacy (pharmacist, pharma-technical assistants, etc.) and to the roles for decentralized requirement notifications (secretariat, physician and nurse on the care unit).

SAP plans to continuously enhance and optimize the material requisition area for users on care units and in other functional areas. The following new functionality is planned and partially supported in the current release:

Simplified release of material requisitions by another user

System support for module-based pharmacy storage cabinets

Digital signature for prescription materials (see release note Digital Signature for Material Requisition

Mobile entry

For this release, pharmacy-specific fields have been added to the SAP Logistics Material Master which now also accommodates pharmacy-oriented reporting. The following development highlights are planned for the medium-term to long-term:

Flexible analyses in SAP Business Information Warehouse

Support of business scenarios using Enterprise Buyer professional edition (requirement notification, reference database connection, support for professional purchaser, etc.)
