Outpatient Case-Based Orders (New)

Use

Integration of SAP Patient Management with Management Accountingexists for inpatient cases. As of SAP ECC Industry Extension Healthcare 7.0, you can create case-based orders as internal orders in Controlling also for outpatient cases, similarly to the function for inpatient cases.

To process the high number of cases expected, the system provides collective orders to which you can post the costs during the billing process. Evaluation on a single-case basis is no longer possible.

You can select collective orders according to specific criteria that are oriented toward the criteria that are already used for classification and profitability analysis. You can control the selection of a collective order using the BAdI: Determination of Collective Order for Outpatient Case-Based Order.

Besides CO-relevant services, you can now also enter CO-relevant material consumptions for outpatient cases, and transfer both into Controlling.

To enable you to select collective orders inFinancial Accountingand. Management Accountingtoo, a search help has been introduced for internal orders, with which the internal order numbers entered for the case can be accessed by means of the IS-H case search. This would enable you to enter additional costs and/or revenues after a case has been settled in FI, which do not originate from IS-H services or material consumptions, even when you have already transferred the costs and revenues for this case to a collective order.

New progams have been added for outpatient case-based orders and collective orders in the Healthcare Controlling area.

Note that the new functions are only available with SAP Ambulatory Care Managementand do not replace the existing solutions in the country versions Netherlands and Switzerland.

Effects on Existing Data

To provide existing outpatient cases with outpatient case-based orders, the RNHCO005program now enables you to select outpatient cases using both the case number and the first visit date for an outpatient case. For the creation of new outpatient cases, the creation of outpatient case-related orders has been integrated into the functions for creating admissions and visits in the Clinical Process Builder.

Effects on Data Transfer

Effects on System Administration

Effects on Customizing

The following IMG activities in the IS-H Implementation Guide have been enhanced for the use of outpatient case-based orders and collective orders:

  • SAP Healthcare - Industry-Specific Components for Hospitals -> Integration with Controlling -> Maintain Basic Settings
  • SAP Healthcare - Industry-Specific Components for Hospitals -> Integration with Controlling -> Characteristics -> Display SAP Values

In these activities, you must check the settings for the inpatient area and, if need be, enhance them for the outpatient area and/or the collective orders.

Columns for flagging the characteristics for outpatient and inpatient use have been added to the IMG activity under SAP Healthcare - Industry-Specific Components for Hospitals -> Integration with Controlling -> Characteristics -> Configure Customer Settings in the IS-H Implementation Guide. Existing entries are migrated for inpatient use by means of the RNUX_700_TN32M XPRA. If you wish to use the entries for the outpatient area and/or for collective entries as well, you need to flag the relevant entries for outpatient use.

To define collective orders and their selection criteria, in the IS-H Implementation Guide you can use the IMG activity SAP Healthcare - Industry-Specific Components for Hospitals ->Integration with Controlling -> Collective Orders. The relevant internal orders must be created in Controlling beforehand. Utility programs are provided to copy the collective orders and to test which collective order would be determined for outpatient cases during the billing process.
