Account determination keys

Scope of Functions

An additional key has been added to the account determination for rental units, rental agreements and management contracts.

Previously the following applied for rental units and rental contracts:

Accounts, posting key = f( flow type,
main usage type,
group indicator )

( f(...) "depends on")

and for management contracts:

Accounts, posting key = f( flow type )

As of release 4.5A the following applies for rental units and rental agreements:

Accounts, posting key = f( flow type,
main usage type,
group indicator,
account determination key 4:
"Accout determination value")

and for management contracts:

Accounts, posting key = f( flow type,
account determination key 2:
"Accout determination value")

You maintain the new account determination key as follows:

  • Rental units : "Additional data" screen, "AcctDetVal" field
  • Rental agreements : "Payment data" screen, "AcctDetVal" field
  • Management contracts : "Partner" screen, "AcctDetVal" field

    To avoid errors when entering values, these fields may also be filled by substitution.

You have to make the following changes in Customizing to activate the new account determination key:

  • Show "AccDetVal" in the master data (field status)
  • Fill check table with possible account determination values
  • Activate the 2nd or 4th account determination key
  • Change account determination

If you need to activate the 4th account determination key in clients that have already been customized, you can change the account determination table with report RFVISL72 by marking the 2nd or 4th account determination key with the '+' formatting character.

Note

If the 2nd or 4th account determination key is subsequently activated in a system that is already productive, make sure that the indicator is not time-dependent. From the date of change, all postings will be carried out with the new account determination key as well as any necessary follow-up postings. We therefore recommend not activating the 2nd or 4th account determination key if your system is alread productive.
