Flexible Date Combinations

Description

As of Release 4.01, you can also use "flexible" date combinations in addition to the "fixed" date combinations that were previously supported.

Flexible date combinations can be used to specify a particular combination of booking units, for which the schedule lines required are first specified in the order.
You can also specify several lower level booking units for a higher level booking unit and a date combination key. The same booking unit can be assigned more than once as a lower level booking unit.
In previous releases, it was only possible to define "fixed" date combinations. This meant that it was necessary to determine a date or an issue variant type that was to be booked by a date combination specified for a particular booking unit.
It was necessary to mark an entry as a "reference" entry which was referenced when specifying additional entries ("Week, relative to the reference date", "Same week as reference entry indicator" etc).

Use

If you have assigned a flexible date combination to a booking unit, after entering the booking unit, date combination, business content component and the date (of the particular reference basic booking unit), a dialog box will appear similarly to that for the manual schedule line generation screen. You will be prompted here to enter the required publication date for the particular basic booking units for this date combination.

Examples

Twice in daily newspaper A, once in weekly newspaper B

Effects on Customizing

When defining a flexible date combination, please set the indicator Generate schedule lines manually and the Flexible date combination indicator.

Define date combination ID.
