Extractors for the SAP BW

Software/hardware requirements

You have installed the Business Information Warehouse Release 1.2b or a newer version.

Description

Some test extractors for the Business Information Warehouse (BW) are available to you in Release 4.02.

You require extractors to load IS-M/AM data into the SAP BW. Extractors are function modules that are accessed by the Business Information Warehouse using an ALE connection and used to read the data required in the Online Transaction Processing System.

The extractors supplied with 4.02 are test extractors that may change in subsequent releases. A complete connection to the BW will be available in the next release.

The following restrictions apply to Release 4.02:

  • Available test extractors only support a full update. This means that changes are not transferred to the BW, but rather only the complete current status.
  • Data is not uploaded without being changed, i.e it is not processed during the extraction process.
Examples:
  • Cancelled billing datasets are also read by the system during the extraction of order data. This means that the original value remains in the sales volume fields but the Cancelled indicator is set. These values may be added to.
You have the option of excluding cancelled data from the extraction using a Select Option or of evaluating cancelled orders and non-cancelled orders separately by setting a filter.

  • Leading signs are not reversed by the system automatically when the billing data is extracted. There are no negative values in the cancellation document of a cancelled billing document, but the billing category or billing type may be different. Values may be doubled instead of being balanced.
If you wish to create examples using the test extractors that have identical totals in the BW to those in your source system, you must adjust the value fields in the BW accordingly.
