Classify Media Contact Person as SAP Business Partner

Use

The existing media contact person classification can be transferred to the SAP business partner in Release 4.64.

The existing media contact person was classified using the J12 class type. The contact person field from the JJTAM table was used as the object key for this class type. This table is no longer required by the SAP business partner, since the contact person is also a SAP business partner here.

Two new class types (CT) have been created and shipped for contact persons in the SAP business partner:

1.) CT J13: Contact person classification with contact person object key

2.) CT J14: Contact person relationship classification with Business partner and contact person object key

CT J13 classifies the contact person. CT J14 classifies the relationship between the contact person and another SAP business partner.

An assignment table and four transfer reports have been developed to migrate classes for the class types. Steps in the migration process must be executed in the sequence defined below:

  1. Use the RJJ_MD_CP_CONV_FILL_CUST_TAB report to copy classes in the J12 class type into the JJCPCLASSCONV table. Selecting the Select J13 contact person and/or Select J14 contact person relationship controls whether a class and the corresponding contact person assignments are to be migrated to class type J13 (contact person) and/or class type J14 (contact person relationship).
  2. Check the entries that the system has generated in the JJCPCLASSCONV table and maintain any missing entries required (using transaction SM30).
  3. Use the RJJ_MD_CP_CONV_COPY_CLASSES report to copy classes from the J12 class type into the J13 and/or J14 class type. The system also copies characteristic assignments in the classes. If the characteristics involved have been restricted to the J12 class type (meaning that they can only be used for this class type), the system extends this restriction to J13 or J14.
  4. Use the RJJ_MD_CP_CONV_CLASSIFICATION report to transfer assignments for the media contact person from the J12 class type into the assignments for the J13 and/or J14 class type. This report reads the media contact persons, assigned business partners and the SAP business partner created by contact person migration in the JJTAM table.
  5. The RJJ_MD_CP_CONV_DEL_CLASSIFICAT report can be used to delete entries generated by the RJJ_MD_CP_CONV_FILL_CUST_TAB, RJJ_MD_CP_CONV_COPY_CLASSES and RJJ_MD_CP_CONV_CLASSIFICATION reports and repeat migration. All data levels created using these reports can also be deleted separately. This is however only possible by reversing the sequence and starting with the classification through the classes and transfer table.

These reports can be run again if a program termination occurs. The system displays a message to this effect in the application log.

Migrate the contact person classification in the Implementation Guide under SAP Media → Tools → Convert Media Contact Person to SAP Business Partner → Perform Conversion → Convert Contact Person Classification.
