CpO Order: Generate Service Item

Use

As of Release 4.64, CpO orders can be managed in Advertising Management.

CpO means that the publisher charges a customer additional costs for each order.

In online advertising, this means that the provider of the banner advertising space receives commission on all product sales from customers who have accessed the advertising pages and purchased products via their banner.

To manage CpO orders in Advertising Management, use a copying variant to generate a service item from an item of any item type. The service item is used to perform settlement for the CpO costs.

Note that the service item can only be generated with reference to an item and not with reference to a schedule line or billing dataset. This means that if a combined booking unit includes several single titles, costs can only be assigned to the combined booking unit and not the single titles.

Data such as the booking unit, content component and date information that is required to generate the service item is transferred from the item to be copied.

Since magazine publishers usually want to determine CpO costs with reference to copy numbers, the From Copy Number and To Copy Number fields have been added to the service item.

These fields have also been added to the Service tab page in central access. They are used to define the selection period for services.

Changes to the Interface

You can now enter copy numbers on the Details tab page for the service item at item level. If you do so, the system calculates the performance period for the service from the copy number data. If you enter the performance period directly, the system assigns an initial value to the copy number.

Effects on Customizing

Copying variants are defined in the Customizing settings for SAP Media under Advertising Management → Sales → Order → Client-Specific Settings → Copying Control → [...]. The target item type (service) into which the item is to be copied can be selected during this process.
