Payment Cards With Card Verification Value (CVV) (New)

Use

A new check number known as the card verification value (CVV) has been introduced as an additional security measure for payment using a payment card.

As of Release 4.71, the card verification value can be entered with the payment card data in the M/AM sales document. This is transferred to the settlement point automatically during payment card authorization.

The card verification value is not saved in the business partner master data with the rest of the payment card data, since this would reduce the additional security it offers. It is recorded in the document item instead.

Effects on System Administration

You must incorporate the corrections from notes 426723, 426730, 495866 and 495979 if you intend to use this function. Corrections are found in the SAP_ABA software component and will not be shipped until SAP_ABA Release 6.20 has been released.

Further Information

The function can also be incorporated in lower releases (starting from 4.62). Refer to note 570310.
