MED_MAM_2: Pricing for Package Sales (New)

Use

As of SAP Enhancement Package 5 for SAP ERP 6.0, Industry Extension Media (IS-M 605), business function Media, Cross-Media Advertising Sales (MED_MAM_2), a new item type is available to you for selling a package in a package item. A package item represents a grouping of advertising services that consist of package element items.

A new pricing procedure called CMP has been introduced to determine the total package price. You can use this pricing procedure to price flexible and fixed packages. The new condition type Total Package Price (PKTP) is used in this pricing procedure.

The system distributes the package price determined between the package element items involved. This distribution is either performed proportionally according to the value of the package element items or is performed using a package distribution factor.

Distribution is based on the header condition technique: This can only be used if the corresponding condition types are found in the pricing procedures for the item types that are sold in the package.

Effects on Existing Data

This enhancement has no effect on the existing data.

Effects on Customizing

If you want to use package price distribution, you must make the following Customizing settings:

  1. Define the condition types with the characteristics listed below under SAP Media → Basic Functions → Pricing → Pricing in Advertising Management → Order/Billing Document → Pricing Control → Define Condition Types:
    1. Create the condition type Package Distribution Factor (PKFC) with the condition class B (price) and calculation rule B (fixed amount). Define this condition type as a group condition. Assign an access sequence that uses the package ID and the package element ID to this condition type. The system uses the package element ID to find the corresponding distribution factor.
    2. Create the condition type Package Share (PKPR) with the condition class A (surcharge or discount) and calculation rule B (fixed amount). Define this condition type as a group condition and a header condition. Do not assign any access sequence to this condition type.
    3. Create the condition type Package Price Variation (PKDF) with the condition class A (surcharge or discount) and calculation rule B (fixed amount). Specify that this condition type cannot be edited manually. Do not assign any access sequence to this condition type.
  2. Insert the following condition types in all pricing procedures that are used for package sales under SAP Media -> Basic Functions -> Pricing -> Pricing in Advertising Management -> Order/Billing Document -> Pricing Control -> Define Pricing Procedure:
    1. - Package distribution factor as a statistical condition type
    2. - Package share as a manual and a statistical condition type
    3. - Package price variation with a reference level related to the package share and calculation formula 200 and basic formula 204.
  3. Define the package-relevant conditions in Customizing under SAP Media → Basic Functions → Pricing → Pricing in Advertising Management → Order/Billing Document → Package Pricing → Define Package-Relevant Conditions:
    1. Assign the corresponding condition type from the pricing procedure CMP with the total package price to the condition reference Package Value (P1).
    2. Assign the corresponding condition type for the pricing procedures for the package element items to the condition reference Package Share (P2).
    3. Assign the corresponding condition types for the pricing procedures for the package element items to the condition reference Package Factor (P3).
    4. Assign the corresponding condition types for the pricing procedures for the package element items to the condition reference Package Price Variation (P4)
  4. You must add package-relevant condition types and formulas to the pricing procedures to be used. For more information, see the pricing procedure CMP and the modified pricing procedures for the existing item types that are supplied in the reference clients.
