Copy Unit Costs from ECP Cost Estimate to Standard Price

Use

From Release 4.71, you can copy the unit costs calculated in an ECP cost estimate into the standard price in the material valuation when creating a media product master record from a WBS element. If you change the cost estimate, you can update the current unit costs calculated to the media product master record created beforehand. Separate valuation is supported. This means, for example, that you can copy the unit costs into the standard price for the first batch.

You define which price keys are to be interpreted as unit costs in the SAP Easy Access menu under Logistics → Media Product Development → Media Product Cost Estimate → Define Pricing Keys. When you define your costing models, you use one of these pricing keys for the item in which the unit costs are to be displayed. Ensure that your costing model is only assigned one item whose price is interpreted as unit costs.

Create a cost estimate for the WBS element that represents a planned media product. Use a costing model with a unit cost item as the planning template.

When you create a media product master from the WBS element, the system creates a valuation for the valuation key (company code or plant) you specify. If you want to perform separate valuation, you must also enter a valuation type. The valuation is created with the values you specify under Logistics → Media Product Development → Media Product Master → Create with Reference to Planning Object → Current Settings → Define Valuation Templates for Unit Cost Transfer. The values used depend on the material type and material group of the media product master used as the template and on the valuation key and valuation type. The unit costs are determined from the cost estimate and written to the standard price for the valuation.

If you change the cost estimate later, you can update the new unit costs to the standard price in the existing valuation for the media product master. To do this, access the execution service Standard Price in the cost estimate. You define the valuation of the media product master to which the unit costs are copied as the standard price by specifying a company code or plant and, if applicable, a valuation type. However, you can also change the standard price in all the plants for which valuations already exist. You can only change the standard price if stock does not yet exist for the media product master in the plant or plants.

Effects on Customizing

In Customizing, choose Title Lifecycle Management → Media Product Development → Control Parameters for Creating Media Product Master from WBS Element. The indicator Valuation from ECP allows you to decide whether you want to use the functions described here or copy the valuation from the template media product master.

To make the Execution Service Standard Price available for use, you must add it to your execution profile under Project System → Costs → Planned Costs → Easy Cost Planning and Execution Services → Execution Services → Define Execution Services Profile.
