Temporary Substitution of Unloading Points in Unloading Viability Sets

Description

As of Release 4.02, you can substitute unloading points temporarily in existing unloading viability sets. The new function allows you to record that an unloading point in a district is unavailable, for example, due to building work, and that another district is to serve as its substitute for a limited period.

Substitutions are possible from the current date. The system lists all active unloading viability sets that are valid on the current date for processing.

If the substitute unloading point has not yet been created in the system, you can create it from the maintenance screen.

Unloading viability sets are changed in change management but the change number is assigned internally (automatically). While checking and releasing the change number internally, the system identifies any orders for which delivery is no longer viable due to the changes.

Note: If the Customizing settings require that the validity period of the change number begin a certain number of days in the future, the substitution must also be at least as far off.

An unloading point cannot be substituted from the start of validity of the unloading viability set. This would have the same effect as deleting the original unloading viability set.

Unloading point sequences
If there are routes that are only assigned the unloading point that is to be replaced (old unloading point) and not the new one, the system lists them. You can choose the route in which the new unloading point is to be inserted. If you choose one or more routes, the new unloading point is added to the route unloading point sequence. The assignment of the route applies throughout the substitution period.

This function can only be used if the Summarized maintenance indicator has been selected in Customizing under Master Data -> Distribution -> Delivery -> Definition of Maintenance Type for Unloading Viability Sets.

The function is located under the following menu path: Logistics -> Media sales and distribution -> Master data -> Distribution -> Delivery -> Unloading viab.set -> Substitute unl.point.
