Parallel Processing of Orders and Structural Changes

Scope of Functions

As of Release 4.61, processing orders and changing geographical structures and distribution master data (by releasing change numbers) can be performed in parallel.

In previous releases, order processing and change number release for geographical structures or deliveries blocked each other. You can now restrict this block to changes that were made using the change number that is to be released.

Once you have activated the function in Customizing (see below), you can select the indicator Limited order block in the master data on the change number. This only blocks orders that are affected by the changes to the relevant change number. If you do not specify a limited order block for the change number, a general block is set as before between releasing a change number (used to change geographical structures or delivery viability sets) and order processing.

Effects on Customizing

To be able to use this function, you must select the indicator Limited order block possible in the Customizing settings for the industry-specific components for media under General Settings -> Maintenance of General IS-M Control Parameters.
