Assignment of Customers to Household Addresses

Use

In release 4.71, you can enter SAP business partners in a new role Household.

Entering addresses as households allows you to personify delivery addresses for total market coverage.

You can assign each household created in the system to an existing customer. The assignment is made using the address. To determine a customer address for a household, the system searches by street, house number and house number affix. Assignments of customers to households can be made as follows:

• In dialog processing
  Once you have entered the address for the business partner Household, the corresponding customer address in the system is assigned automatically in the background.
  If the system finds more than one customer address for a household address, it lists the possible addresses in a selection dialog box. You can assign one customer only to each household.

• Batch input
  If the households are created using batch input, the system assigns the appropriate customer address to each household. If there is more than one possible customer address for a household address, the system cannot make an address assignment in the background. In this case, manual postediting is necessary.

You can prevent the system assigning a customer to a household by selecting the 'Exclude Household Assignment' indicator in the customer's master record.
