Weekday-Specific Plant Determination

Use

In release 4.71, you can set up weekday-specific plant determination for use in order generation and manual order creation.

You can access the functions for defining weekday-specific plant determination in the menu for Media Product Sales and Distribution under Master Data-> Distribution.
You define the plant from which each customer is supplied for each media product and weekday. The system can use this assignment to determine the appropriate supplying plant automatically during order generation for each order item (media issue).

The following restrictions apply when using weekday-specific plant determination in Media Product Sales and Distribution:

  1. Weekday-specific plant determination only takes place for media issues.
  2. The plant for the specific weekday is only determined if the assignment of the media issue to a media product is unique.

Technical Notes

Weekday-specific plant determination is integrated with the standard plant determination function in Media Product Sales and Distribution. It involves the following steps:

  1. Subitems: Plant is copied from the corresponding main item (see Special Features)
  2. Plant is copied from order header
  3. Plant determination from the customer material info records (for example, you can create plant determination records for individual media issues)
  4. Media Product Sales and Distribution: Plant determination for weekday, ship-to party and corresponding media product
  5. Plant determination from ship-to party
  6. Plant determination from material

Weekday-specific plant determination in Media Product Sales and Distribution also has the following special features:

  • To enable weekday-dependent plant determination for order subitems(product kit components), the plant is not copied from the main item if a weekday-specific plant is maintained for the subitem. In this case, the system executes standard plant determination using the corresponding enhancement (from 2, see above).
  • The BAdI ISM_PLANT and method SET_DATE_FOR_WEEKDAY can be used to set the date selevant for determining the weekday. The default implementation of the method uses the publication date of the media issue.
