MED_PDEX_1: Constant Service in Assortment Interface (Enhanced)

Use

As of SAP ECC 6.0, Industry Extension Media, Enhancement Package 4 (IS-M 604), "Media: Press Distribution 2" (MED_PDEX_1), enhancements are available for creating a default service using the Assortment - Contract Interface. You can use this constant service to control supply to a point of sale.

Effects on Existing Data

When creating a contract item, you should note the following two ways in which the system creates a default service:

  • Default service without supply
Initially, the system does not take these contract items into account in sales quantity planning.
  • Default service with supply
The system uses these contract items in sales quantity planning.

Note: You only need to create the default service using the Assortment - Contract Interface if you want to end supply. You can create the default service with supply either using the interface or by initializing the constant service (to do this, choose Logistics -> Media Sales and Distribution -> Press Distribution -> Constant Service -> Initialize Constant Service on the SAP Easy Access screen).

You make the settings for integrating the constant service in Customizing for Press Distribution under Retail Integration → (new) Define Constant Service Creation.

You can also use a Business Add-In to define the supply reason for the constant service (which the system then determines when you execute the assortment - contract interface). You make the settings for this function in Customizing for Press Distribution under System Modifications → Retail Integration → Determine Supply Reason for Constant Service (BAdI: ISM_ASSORTMENT_CONST_SERVICE).
