Release Information for IS-Oil Downstream Release 1.0B - MRN

Description

Single Point of Access to Service Station Data (MRN.41)

IS-Oil Downstream Release 1.0B introduces a new Business Location object to the R/3 system. The Business Location is an object which is used to register any site in which the oil company has a commercial interest.

Some examples of the Business Location are:

  • Service Station
  • Distribution Depot
  • Convenience Store
  • Investment Site.

All data relevant to the Business Location (e.g. links to business partners, texts, other objects in the system) are available from the Business Location maintenance transaction.

The Business Location maintenance transaction also supports links to the following system services:

  • Number range processing
  • Central Address Maintenance (ADRC)
  • SAPscript
  • Classification.

Create SST base record (MRN.41.01)

The 'Create Business Location' transaction is provided to register new Business Location objects to the system.

Change SST base record (MRN.41.02)

The 'Change Business Location' transaction is provided to maintain existing Business Location objects in the system.

Display SST base record (MRN.41.03)

The 'Display Business Location' transaction is provided to display data about existing Business Location Objects.

Process SST type (MRN.41.04)

The Business Location is assigned a 'location type' during create processing. This type is used later to determine certain dialog control mechanisms, such as field selection, permissible links and partner roles. Some examples of 'location types' might be:

  • Company owned / company operated service station
  • Dealer owned / dealer operated service station
  • Jobber supplied service station
  • Intermediate distribution depot.

Object Links and Navigation (MRN.42)

The Object Links and Navigation facility is provided to support the definition of links to other objects in the system which are used to as application-specific depictions of the Business Location.

The object links supported by this facility are:

  • Cost center
  • Profit center
  • Main asset
  • Project and/or Work Breakdown Structure
  • Functional location
  • Plant
  • Storage location.

Object link data structure (MRN.42.01)

All object links provided with MRN are supported by underlying link data structures.

Object link maintenance dialog screen (MRN.42.02)

A location type dependent object link maintenance dialog is provided as part of the Business Location maintenance transaction set.

Object link configuration tool (MRN.42.03)

A tool is provided in the Downstream IS-Oil MRN IMG to define permissible object links according to location type.

Object link 'direct access' facility dialog (MRN42.04)

A facility is included in the object link dialog screen to support direct access to display transactions for the defined object links.

Standard application link area: Functional Location (PM) (MRN.42.21)

A link is supported to a PM functional location master record which can be used to depict the Business Location for maintenance functions.

Standard application link area: Controlling (CO) (MRN.42.22)

A link is supported to both the CO Cost Center and CO (EC-PCA) Profit Center, each of which can be used to depict the Business Location for controlling purposes.

Standard application link area: Inventory Management (MM) (MRN.42.23)

A link is supported to both the Plant and the Storage location objects, each of which can be used to depict the Business Location for inventory management purposes.

Standard application link area: Asset Handling (FI-AA) (MRN.42.24)

A link is supported to the Main Asset object which can be used to depict the Business Location for asset management purposes.

Standard application link area: Project Management (PS) (MRN.42.25)

A link is supported to both Project and Work Breakdown Structure objects to track activities at the Business Location for project management purposes. The link can be defined either at Project level or at specific Project/WBS level.

Delivery Point Information (MRN.43)

An initial approach to the provision of Vendor Managed Inventory is provided in the form of data structures within the system.

Delivery point opening hours table (MRN.43.21)

A structure is provided in the Data Dictionary which can be used to store information about opening hours for sales for a specific delivery point (customer).

Business Partner Roles (MRN.44)

The business partner roles facility is provided to enable users to link the Business Location to business partners of the oil company in terms of the role that they perform with respect to that location.

Business partner role maintenance screen (MRN.44.01)

A maintenance dialog is provided to enable to create, modify and delete partner role assignments.

Business partner role maintenance table (MRN.44.22)

Partner role assignments are held in a new table keyed on Business Location, role and start date/time.

Characterisation of role by partner function (MRN.44.31)

The partner role is characterised by the function of the partner with respect to its owning application.

Characterisation of role by dealer/vendor role (MRN.44.32)

The partner role is supported by an underlying partner role technical category which is used to characterise the role by the partner type.

Validity start time (date/time) (MRN.44.33)

A start time can be defined for the Business Partner role assignment.

Validity end time (date/time) (MRN.44.34)

An end time can be defined for the Business Partner role assignment.

Object/partner ID link to external customer/vendor/prospect (MRN.44.35)

The partner role is linked to the business partner record in the system and a direct access facility is provided to display partner details.

Secondary index identifying service station by business partner (MRN.44.38)

The allocation of business partner to Business Location is established via a secondary index on the partner role table.

R/3 Reporting Tools (MRN.46)

A mechanism is provided to assign the Business Location ID to customer business partners in preparation for LIS reporting in the Release 1.0C of IS-Oil.

Internal 'look-up' function to determine business partners for SST (MRN.46.03)

Business partners for the Business Location can be determined via the Business Partner Roles listing facility.
