Release Information for IS-Oil Downstream Release 1.0C - TD

Description

Introduction

The area of transport and distribution provides functionality specifically aimed at the movement of bulk products. Functionality exists to perform the scheduling of the bulk products into vehicles, record comprehensive loading information, and record the delivery details. It provides the benefit of enabling the monitoring of stock whilst it is intransit, and allows the automatic calculation of transport associated gains and losses.

The IS-Oil transportation and distribution functionality in 1.0C has been enhanced by the following:

Order TD status (TD.01)

Integration in document flow (TD.01.02)

The SD document flow has been updated to include the TD bulk shipment document. For each bulk shipment processed by TD, it is possible to see the orders, deliveries and goods movements associated with loading and any gain/loss or return postings made at delivery confirmation.

For each delivery processed through TD, the SD document flow is enhanced for the delivery to show the shipment document and associated goods movements invoked at loading and delivery confirmation.

Deliveries (TD.02)

Updating reservation on stock "scheduled for delivery" (TD.02.02)

Delivery quantities are updated, if product quantities are changed from those originally planned, at scheduling and loading. This has the effect that the "scheduled for delivery" quantity is automatically updated.

Scheduling transaction (TD.03)

Vehicle selection routine (TD.03.02.02)

A flexible routine is available to support the selection of vehicles for assignment to a shipment during scheduling. The selection criteria that can be used to select available vehicles includes:

  • Vehicle type
  • Number of transport units
  • Carrier field
  • Transportation planning point.

Delivery selection routine (TD.03.04.02)

A flexible routine is available to support the selection of deliveries for assignment to a shipment during scheduling. The selection criteria that can be used to select available deliveries include:

  • Ship-to party
  • Shipping point
  • Delivery date.

Driver selection routine (TD.03.05.02)

A routine is available to support the selection of drivers for assignment to a shipment during scheduling. The selection criteria that can be used to select available drivers includes:

  • Driver last name
  • Carrier
  • Driver number.

Changing product quantities in delivery (TD.03.07)

When a shipment is confirmed during scheduling, the underlying deliveries are updated to reflect any changes to product quantities that may have occurred. This ensures any necessary credit limit or availability checks are performed and that correct, up-to-date data is available to Inventory Management and Materials Requirements Planning (MRP) if used.

Printing schedule (TD.03.13)

It is possible to print the shipment document after the schedule is confirmed. This printed document can be used as the basis for the scheduler to provide a driver with instructions for loading.

Loading transaction (TD.04)

Loading meters - Rack (TD.04.02)

It is possible to record actual loaded quantities through the entry of rack meter readings. Rack meters are defined through the TD master data menu. Rack meter readings are validated against the master data during load confirmation transaction to ensure input of correct data.

Manufactures / planned rebrands (TD.04.06)

Support is provided during loading for manufacture or planned blending of products at the rack. This is handled through setting up a Bill of Material (BOM) for the blended product. The BOM main product is ordered by the customer and is the basis for scheduling. At loading, the BOM is exploded into its sub-items with the actual loaded quantities being recorded at this level. The delivery confirmation is then performed for the main item.

Multiple meters (TD.04.08)

Support is provided for the use of multiple meters to load a single compartment. An additional screen is invoked to capture the quantities associated with the multiple meters.

Printing loading papers (TD.04.12)

It is possible to print the shipment document after load confirmation is performed. This printed document can be used as the basis for the Bill of Lading and also inform the driver of which products and quantities are for which customers.

Delivery confirmation (TD.05)

Rapid confirmation (TD.05.01)

The rapid confirmation provides the capability to record the delivered quantities at delivery confirmation as being the same as at loading confirmation. In this case, there are no gains, losses, returns or left-on-vehicle quantities for the "rapid confirm" deliveries. The goods issue generated is based on the loaded quantity.

Vehicle meters (TD.05.06)

Support is provided for the use of vehicle meters to record the actual quantity of a product delivered to a customer. Vehicle meters are defined through the TD master data menu. Vehicle meter readings are validated against the master data during the delivery confirmation transaction to ensure input of correct data.

Plant-to-plant transfer handling (TD.05.10)

Transportation support is provided for the two step plant-to-plant transfer using stock transport orders. It is possible to schedule, load and delivery confirm the product movements. For this case, the goods issue is triggered from the loading transaction, and the goods receipt is triggered during delivery confirmation.
