Silo/Tank Management - Assignment to R/3 Inventory Stocks

Scope of Functions

One or more silos/tanks can be assigned to a storage location and/or or to special stocks (batches, consignment stocks).

The assignment to a specific valuation type (for example, taxed or untaxed) helps determine the tax status of the product in the tank.

The material and stock assignment to silos and tanks is the basis for the various functions performed in Silo Management. Whenever a goods movement takes place, the corresponding silo/tank is selected by the link of the material storage location to the silo/tank.

Material and stock tank assignments prevent material postings that are not compatible with the assignment. Posting errors can therefore be prevented.

In Customizing for the Industry Solution Oil & Gas (Downstream)you

• Activate the Silo/Tank Management function on storage location level by choosing HPM -> Silo/Tank Management -> Master Data -> Define storage location as storage location for silo/tank management

• Define whether single or multiple material assignments are allowed by choosing HPM -> Silo/Tank Management -> Master Data -> Define material assignments
