Goods-Receipt - Entry (Enhanced)

Use

Post Goods Receipt

During goods receipt at a base (onshore) plant the OLM module determines whether the items received are to be delivered to a remote (offshore) plant and if so posts a delivery note to the SAP database. The delivery will be created in one of two ways.

  • If a transport order exists for the goods receipt item, the delivery note references the transport order as if the delivery had been created using the standard delivery due list processing.
  • If no transport order exists the delivery is created without reference.

In both cases the delivery is cross-referenced to the goods receipt item to allow monitoring of the progress of the original material request.

In addition the goods receipt items may be packed within the delivery according to the settings within OLM configuration. During goods receipt the user may affect the default assignment of goods receipt items to delivery items by pressing the ‘Cross-Docking’ button and then using the ‘GRN packing dialog’.

When goods receipt and delivery have been saved, OLM causes a ‘cross-docking’ report to be displayed. This report gives details of the goods receipt items that are relevant to OLM together with information about where they are to be shipped. From within the ‘cross-docking’ report it is possible to access the OLM packing utilities to allow the deliveries that were posted for the goods receipt to be packed into containers. When the cross-docking report is left, the user is returned to the original goods receipt transaction.

The OLM goods receipt functionality is available in the ENJOY material movement transaction, MIGO only.

Cancel Goods Receipt (New)

When a cancellation of goods receipt is posted, OLM checks the object flow index for each goods receipt item to see if a cross-dock delivery item is connected to the original goods receipt item. If one or more such delivery items exist, OLM halts posting of the goods receipt and present the user with a pop-up dialog listing the goods receipt items and the associated delivery items, allowing the user to delete the deliveries if required and then continue with the posting.
