Meter Reading Events (Enhanced in SP2)

Use

As of SAP Oil & Gas 4.6C Service Pack 2, you can define your own meter reading events. Each of the customer-defined events must refer to one of the following basic events:

  • Sales flow
  • Estimated flow
  • Flush
  • Quantity
  • Meter reset

This allows greater flexibility of processing. For example, if you want to deduct stolen fuel from the sales volume that the dealer is to be invoiced for, you can create a special quantity event called .theft., which identifies quantity events that are always to have a negative value.

Effects on Existing Data

There must be at least one customer meter reading event for each of the existing basic events.

In the template delivered by SAP, one customer meter reading event already exists for each of the basic events.

Effects on Data Transfer

Effects on System Administration

Effects on Customizing

To create new customer-defined meter reading events, in Customizing for the Industry Solution Oil & Gas (Downstream), choose SSR (Service Station Retailing) → Fuels Processing → Process Configuration → Define Meter Events.
