Assignment Objects

Description

CAUTION

The assignment object function described in the following has not been released for Release 3.0F1. This currently only represents a preliminary solution which can be replaced by similar functionality at a later point in time.

You can define at which level the funds assignments are checked against the budget within the hierarchy or for individual subhierarchies. This means that it is possible that the assignment level is above the budget level, that is when a posting is made, availability control checks relatively high "up" in the budget hierarchy as to whether budget is still available.

You can choose different levels for the payment budget and the commitment budget.

If you want to use this function, you must assign assignment objects in the budget structure.

Here you should note the following restrictions:

  • There may only be one assignment object for a budget structure to which account assignments can be made in the path upwards in the hierarchy.
  • The assignment object must also be a budget object if you have defined budget objects in the budget structure.
(You can use the assignment object function whether or not you work with budget objects.)

Via Tools -> Budgeting -> Check assgmnt object, you can call the check program which checks whether the assignment objects were defined without errors for the whole hierarchy or parts of it.
