ISR_RETAIL_STORE: Physical Inventory During Opening Hours Using PIPE (new)

Use

As of SAP ECC 6.0, Enterprise Extension Retail, Enhancement Package 2 (EA-RET 602), Business Function Retail, Store & Multichannel (ISR_RETAIL_STORE) you can take physical inventory during opening hours and use the POS Inbound Processing Engine (PIPE) at the same time. By doing so the volume of data that is passed on to ERP is reduced, as transaction data is passed from the PIPE to ERP in summarized form. You can use the following functions:

  • Summarize transaction data
You can display the relevant POS transaction for every item in the PIPE after summarization.
  • Reports
You can call up POS transaction data from the PIPE to calculate the book inventory at count time. You can also call up a list of POS transaction data from the PIPE.

Effects on Existing Data

The following reports have been enhanced:

  • Calculation report WSTI_R_PI_STOCK_CALC (via transaction WSTI_R_PI_CALC)
  • List report R_SRS_PI_CALC_SHOW (via transaction WSTI_R_PI_SHOW): The list generated by the report is arranged by columns.
  • The report for application log after calculation of the book inventory R_SRS_PI_LOG (via transaction WSTI_R_PI_LOG)

Effects on Customizing

Make the following Customizing settings for this function in Customizing of Sales under POS-Interface -> Inbound:

Set the indicator Send Confirmation.
Make the setting Determine POS Transactions from the PIPE under POS Data Determination Control
Set the indicator Activate enhanced functionality.
Specify the RFC destination of the BW systems that you are using for POS data management with the PIPE.
