Replacement Value Creation (New)

Use

Replacement values must be created in cases when no profile values exist for a certain time period (for example, if a device breaks down or communication with the device is lost). Procedures for creating replacement values are agreed on contractually between companies.

It is also necessary to create forecast values for profiles. Forecast values are required for billing simulations or network balancing.

You can now automatically replace profile values based on predefined replacement procedures. For example, you can copy values for the Replacement Period from the profile of the control meter.

You can find more information under General Information on Replacement Value Creation.

This functions allows you to:

  • Link the replacement procedure group to a profile
You can assign a Replacement Procedure Group to the profiles managed in IS-U. Profile header maintenance can be found in the utilities industry menu under Energy Data Management -> Profile Management -> Profile Management.
  • Automatically interpolate missing profile values
The system will automatically interpolote imported profile values if you select the Import field in the replacement value group of the profile.
  • Manually interpolate missing profile values
You can also interpolate profile values manually in two ways:
  • If the missing profile values could not be generated automatically (for example if values for a control meter profile have not yet been imported), you can repeat replacement value creation using the import monitoring function.

The import monitoring function can be found in the utilities industry menu under Energy Data Management -> Monitoring -> Profile Import.
  • You can also create replacement values for individual profiles.

You can find the function for maintaining profile values in the utilities industry menu under Energy Data Management -> Profile Management -> Profile Values.
  • Automatically extrapolate profile values
You can now perform billing simulations using extrapolated profile values for customers who are billed based on load shapes. Before you can do this, the profile must allocated to a replacement value procedure group.
  • Extrapolate profile values manually
You can also extrapolate individual profile values. You can find the function for profile value management in the utilities industry menu under Energy Data Management -> Profile Management -> Profile Values.

Effects on Customizing

Customizing for EDM replacement value creation can be found under SAP Utilities -> Energy Data Management -> Profile Management -> Replacement Value Creation. It includes the following activities:

Changes to the Interface

  • Monitoring Profile Imports (Energy Data Management -> Monitoring -> Profile Import)
You can display the following types of log entries:
  • Entries for profile values that were missing during the import period

  • Entries for profile values that were replaced successfully or unsuccessfully

You can repeat replacement value creation for either individual log entries or for all log entries displayed (for entries not sucessfully replaced).
To do this, go to choose Edit -> Generate Profile Values for Profile or Edit -> Generate All Replacement Values.
  • Change Profile Values
You can generate replacement values as follows:
Choose Energy Data Management -> Profile Management -> Profile Values -> Change. Choose a profile and a period for the replacement values. Choose Execute Mass Change. You can then choose one of the following processes:
  • Interpolate values

  • Extrapolate values
