Commmunication Control (Enhanced)
Use
Communication control determines the function modules used for processing inbound and outbound communication between the SAP system and external parties.
There are now two types of commmunication control:
- Communication based on service types in static deregulated markets (not changed since the last release):
Intended for stable markets, in which different distribution grids use the same communication standards. The communication standards are defined at service type level.
- Communication based on service providers in changing deregulated markets (new):
Intended for markets in which the communication standards of service providers can vary. The communication standards are defined at service provider level, enabling you to enter specify data on the communication type and format of different service providers. Note that this type of communication control requires extensive maintenance.
The characteristics of this new type of communication control are as follows:
- The definition of the communication control (the function module that carries out communication) is based on the service provider with whom you want to communicate.
- You can subdivide the communication control by condition type. SAP provides the following condition types:
- Condition type for sending load profiles and schedules
- General condition type that can be used in any communication
- You choose a date on which the communication type becomes valid. This makes communication control independent from Customizing transports and easier to maintain- especially if you change it frequently.
