SP8: Installation/Removal/Replacement Without Entering Meter Reading

Use

As of SAP ECC Industry Extension Utilities, Waste & Recycling 6.0 Support Package 8, you can install, remove, or replace a device without having to enter meter reading results.

You must first define the following parameters in Customizing for SAP Utilities under Device Management-> Installation-> Basic Settings-> Define System Parameters for Installation/Removal/Replacement:

DEVINSNOMR - Device installation/removal/replacement without entering meter reading results (dialog control)

and/or

DVINSNMRBG - Device installation/removal/replacement without entering meter reading results (batch control)

In both cases, when you save, meter reading orders are created so that it is possible to enter the relevant meter reading reasons at a later date either in the dialog or by uploading them.

When the data is entered, the system ensures that no meter reading results can be entered after an order to install, remove, or replace a device has been opened, since these meter reading results can be used as a basis for validating subsequent meter reading results.

Effects on Existing Data

The installation/removal/replacement transactions are executed as they were previously.

In Customizing, you can define the display of a dialog box for the dialog mode on which the user must confirm that they want to save without entering meter reading results.

You can only use the new function if the DEVINSNOMR indicator is set during migration and in the master data generator.

You can select the following new parameters in the activity Define System Parameters for Installation/Removal/Replacement:

• DEVINSNOMR - Device installation/removal/replacement without entering meter reading results

• DVINSNMRBG - Device installation/removal/replacement without entering meter reading results in batch mode.

Note that this new function is not available for the Japanese Customizing settings.
