ISU_AMI_4C: Time Stamp for IS-U Device Installation, Removal, and Replacement

Use

As of SAP enhancement package 7, support package 4 for SAP ERP 6.0, Industry Extension Utilities, Waste & Recycling (ISU_UTIL_WASTE), the independent and reversible business function ISU_AMI_4C is available with the switch ISU_AMI_4_DTI. If you activate this business function and the corresponding switch, you can log the exact time (date/time) and time zone for a device-related physical activity (device installation/removal/replacement). The time stamp is only used for information purposes in SAP for Utilities and is not made available to any other IS-U processes to be used during processing.

Processes in the SAP for Utilities solution are not influenced by this field. This applies specifically to the meter reading and billing processes, that work exclusively on a daily basis.

In IS-U, device installation, removal, and replacement are entered to the day.

In the case of device installation and removal, this is an action with an absolute start or end. Device installation is dated as the activity date and the time 00:00, whereas the removal is scheduled as the activity date -1 and the time 23:59.

The activity date and time defines the master data and activity data for other actions in IS-U, such as meter reading (meter reading upon installation, removal reading).

Since data is stored differently in the IS-U and MDUS systems, this information can lead to the measurement data (discreet meter reading and interval reading) being interpreted incorrectly when the estimate is validated, during the replacement value procedure and the allocation of measurement values. To avoid these types of errors, the actual installation and removal time must be communicated to the MDUS systems. This applies specifically to the device replacement process for interval meters in the different data models used in IS-U and MDUS. The actual installation and removal time refers to the time at which the device is technically installed or removed on site by the service technician. The time zone is also observed in addition to the activity time and date.

The activity time is only used for information purposes in the IS-U back-end system and is not used in any other IS-U processes (such as meter reading and billing).

This new function can be used for both AMI devices and classic meters without an MDUS connection. It is also available for IS-U devices that do not have an interval register.

This new function is only available for actual devices and not for device information records.

Set Time Stamp

The following transactions give you the option of setting a time stamp (activity date/time/time zone):

  • Full Installation (transaction EG31)
  • Technical Device Installation (transaction EG33)
  • Full Removal (transaction EG32)
  • Technical Device Removal (transaction EG36)
  • Device Replacement (transaction EG30)

The initial screens for the device transactions remain unchanged: The time stamp is first maintained on the following screen for the IS-U device transactions for the connection object time zone. If no time zone has been maintained in the address for the connection object, the system time zone is set here. Time stamps can be recorded directly here and data for the installation/removal/replacement that is entered automatically can also be uploaded from mobile devices.

Note that time stamps can be maintained according to their initial entry but additional changes can only be made by performing a technical reversal of the installation/removal/replacement.

Display Time Stamp

You can now use the transactions IQ02 and IQ03 to display the installation/removal time with a time zone in addition to the installation/removal date.

Synchronization with a Meter Data Unification and Synchronization (MDUS) System

Time stamps are transferred to MDUS using the following (device location and master data replication-related) enterprise services:

  • UtilitiesDeviceERPSmartMeterLocationNotification_Out
  • UtilitiesDeviceERPSmartMeterLocationBulkNotification_Out
  • UtilitiesDeviceERPSmartMeterReplicationBulkRequest_Out
