Interpreting Results of PSA Calculations (New)

Use

As of SAP R/3 Release 4.6C, there are three ways to interpret the results of PSA processing by using the Production Data Entry transaction, the Display Ledger Summary transaction, and the Data Browser transaction.

The Entering Production Volumes and Prices per Unit transaction is available to you for reviewing production volumes and revenues, which are critical to executing PSA calculations. With this transaction you can review user-entered volumes and prices per unit for specific PSC and product combinations for particular accounting periods and fiscal years.

For reviewing cost data, which is also critical to executing PSA calculations, the Display Ledger Summary transaction is available. With this transaction you can review the PSC Standard Ledger, which stores cost data that was rolled up from the source ledger to the PSA ledger.

After the system executes the PSA calculations, the PSCHD, PSCIT, and PSCCR tables are updated with different parts of the results. In order to interpret fully the results of calculation processing, you can review these tables with the Data Browser transaction. The tables contain the following types of data:

PSCHD

The PSCHD table contains the volume that the system used as the basis for calculation processing.

PSCIT

The PSCIT table contains a line for every item that results from an execution of calculation processing for a specific PSC and product combination. (The system creates a line, for example, when actual costs exceed the recovery cap.) Each line is linked to a document number, which in turn is linked to the relevant line in PSCHD. In addition PSCIT contains information about the PSC_PER_COST field, which indicates the period in which the costs represented within the line originated.

PSCCR

The PSCCR table contains the currency amounts associated with the lines generated in PSCIT by calculation processing. For every line in PSCIT, the PSCCR table creates a line for each combination of currency type and ledger. There could be multiple PSCCR lines, therefore, for each PSCIT line.

Note: When actual costs exceed the recovery cap, the system carries the costs forward to the succeeding period. When the system carries forward the costs, it changes PSCIT with a credit to the PSC and product for the currentperiod. A debit for the same amount is posted to the PSC and product for the next period in the PSC Standard Ledger.
