Extension for Multi-Dimensional Freight Condition

Scope of Functions

You can define up to three scales of pricing conditions in the SAP System for the calculation of freight costs for shipments. The following new functions make this process more efficient and user-friendly:

  1. Distribution of conditions:
    The existing ALE scenario for distribution of pricing conditions was expanded. Now you can also distribute multi-dimensional freight conditions from an SAP system to other systems via ALE. You can also use this same IDoc to copy conditions from an external system.
    The change transaction for conditions assists in triggering the freight condition to be sent. You can select individual records to be sent from the list of conditions (via Condition info).
  2. Mass changes to freight conditions:
    You can now increase multi-dimensional freight conditions across the board by a certain percentage or absolute amount. If your forwarding agent increases an agreed-upon freight condition by 5 percent on the first of next month, you can make the necessary changes as follows:
  • Since a new freight condition with a new validity is to be created, copy the existing condition with the Create with reference transaction.

  • In the overview that follows, select the freight conditions that you want to change and then choose the Change document function. The system then asks you to confirm which data you want to change (percentage rate, absolute amount, ...).

Effects on System Administration

Set up corresponding ports and partner profiles for output type COND_A for distribution of freight conditions. You can process these with transaction WEDI.
The BALE transaction is available in the target system for control of inbound processing.
