Radio frequency support for handling unit processes

Use

Using mobile data entry, it is possible to update data synchronously in the SAP System. The use of a wide range of radio frequency terminals enables the individual processes in warehouse management to be performed so that the operations are directly updated at the location of the physical warehouse activity. The activities such as putaway, transfer, and picking can be executed by scanning the relevant bar code, which appears on a handling unit, without a special knowledge of the SAP System.

Radio frequency supports the following scenarios for handling unit processes:

Pick and pack

This function enables the user to pack goods while picking them. When selecting a handling unit for an outbound delivery, the operator can determine the packaging material he intends to use and pack the goods directly. The handling unit identifier is assigned to the transfer order for picking.

Pack and unpack

Handling units can be created throughout the supply chain. The radio frequency functionality supports creating handling units during the goods receipt and in the warehouse. Also several handling units can be combined into one new handling unit. You can use radio frequency transactions to nest handling units in one another.

Load and unload

You can use the load and unload function for controlling the loading of handling units onto modes of transport. The handling unit to be loaded or unloaded can be identified by the repective shipment or delivery number. For information on the handling units' load status, retrieve the inquiry function.
