Creating a Replenishment Transfer Order (TO) when TO is Confirmed

As of this release, you can take care of internal warehouse replinishment at the time of transfer order confirmation. During this process, the system creates a transfer order automatically. In other words, it is no longer necessary to create a transfer requirement first. Sending confirmation to the person who created the transfer order confirmation is not recommended, but is triggered automatically if problems occur. This automatic confirmation is sent to the partner that you defined in the system.

Reducing the quantity of replenishment:

You can define a maximum and minimum quantity for stock on the storage type screen. If the stock quantity sinks below the minimum quantity, replenishment is ordered.

Direct TO creation is available for fixed storage bins and for random bin management:

1. Direct TO creation for fixed storage bins

In this replenishment strategy, the system checks the stock situation in the storage bin during transfer order confirmation. The quant data and the material master data for this check are taken from the storage type screen. A replenishment transfer order determines the fixed storage bin of the material in this storage type as the destination storage bin.

2. Direct TO creation for random bin management

In this replenishment strategy, the system checks the stock situation ofthe material for the entire storage type during transfer order confirmation. The quant data of the material in this storage type and the material master data that are necessary for this check are taken from the storage type screen. If the total stock in this storage type falls below the minimum quantity after transfer order confirmation, the system creates a replenishment transfer order. The destination storage bin is determined by using the putaway strategy for this storage type. Thus, we do not recommend maintaining fixed storage bins on the storage type screen of the material master.

If one of these two replenishment strategies is defined, the system creates replenishment transfer orders directly when the transfer order is confirmed. If two-step confirmation is active for a particular transfer order, the replenishment transfer order is created when the picking step is verified.

Replenishment reports:

If you defined a new fixed storage bin, you should use replenishment report RLLNACH1 to create the first replenishment. Once this report has been run, you can start picking in that fixed-storage-bin type if the system converted replenishment transfer requirements to transfer orders. Otherwise, the system might end up ordering too much replenishment stock.

The same is true for replenishment report RLLNACH4, which is to be used for random bin management.

Effects on Customizing

In the define stock transfers and replenishment control activity in the Implementation guide (IMG), you can decidewhich replenishment technique you want to use. The replenishment technique can be set according to the warehouse number and warehouse type. You can also define which users the system should inform if errors occur.
